Overview

 

We are looking for a Digital Content Specialist (In-person position) to join our Corporate location in Fresno, CA.

 

This exempt position reports to the Director of Communications. The Digital Content Specialist supports UHC’s external digital presence, including strong video production, social media, email marketing, and digital outreach initiatives. This role also plays a key role in the UHC TV initiative, ensuring engaging patient-facing content across digital platforms. Additionally, the Digital Content Specialist collaborates with internal teams on digital software systems and storytelling efforts to enhance UHC’s visibility and community engagement.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Works closely with the Director of Communications as well as all departments within UHC to:

  • Support external communications, digital strategy, social media management, email marketing, and community outreach efforts.
  • Produce video content emphasizing promotional storytelling, patient experiences, and impactful narratives.
  • Assist with web development projects, supporting user experience (UX/UI) design and digital innovation.
  • Contribute to the UHC TV project and develop strategies to maximize digital reach and impact.
  • Manage email marketing software and maintain contact lists to optimize audience reach and engagement.
  • Support UHC Foundation through creative design contributions and event coordination.

PERFORMANCE AREA 1: Video Production and Storytelling

  • Oversee conceptualization, scripting, filming, editing, and distribution of compelling storytelling videos.
  • Produce external communications content including patient testimonials, promotional videos, and community stories.

PERFORMANCE AREA 2: Presence Management

  • Collaborate on digital strategies to enhance patient experience and community engagement.
  • Support digital software and systems to ensure reliable and high-performing online platforms.

PERFORMANCE AREA 3: Social Media and Email Marketing

  • Develop and manage social media content and campaigns to increase audience engagement.
  • Create and implement targeted email marketing strategies, ensuring accurate maintenance of the contacts database.

 PERFORMANCE AREA 4: External Communications, UHC TV, and Foundation Support

  • Support the UHC TV initiative, including content creation, scheduling, and deployment.
  • Assist in coordinating external communication campaigns, aligning them with UHC’s strategic goals.
  • Maintain message consistency across all digital channels.
  • Provide creative support to the UHC Foundation for events and visual communications.

PERFORMANCE AREA 5: General Corporate Expectations

  • Attend workshops/seminars as necessary to increase skills and knowledge.
  • Support the overall needs of UHC by working flexible or extended hours as needed.
  • Demonstrate awareness of, and compliance with, the organizational mission of UHC to provide health care access and support services for all members of the community.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for information regarding patients and other team members; abide by UHC Rules of Confidentiality and HIPAA privacy regulations.

  • Promote positive staff interaction and maintain open communication across programs/departments.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements

Education:

  • BA or BS in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, and/or related field from an accredited college or university.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Possess a valid Driver's License

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing and/or public relations. Ideally, familiarity with healthcare industry, health issues, and/or community advocacy 

Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with ability to read, write, and translate materials for patient/community understanding is a plus.
  • Proficiency with web software programs, MS Office, Photoshop, and digital video editing/design software.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain rapport with patients, staff, and community members of diverse backgrounds.
  • Creative flair and enthusiasm for design; flexible approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation ability, and confidence in speaking to varied audiences.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer relations experience and professional demeanor.

The pay range for this Exempt position starts at $70,347.08 a year. Our salary ranges are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
