Overview

We are recruiting a Surgery Coordinator for our Fresno CRMC - Surgical location to join the UHC team.

 

A UHC Surgery Coordinator will play a critical part in ensuring seamless coordination of surgical procedures for our patients by working closely with providers, patients, and surgical facilities. The surgery Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling procedures, obtaining prior authorizations, verifying insurance, providing patients with pre- and post-operative instructions outlined by their surgical provider. As a key member of the UHC team, the surgery coordinator will help facilitate access to high-quality surgical care while upholding our mission to our patients. Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety regulations as defined by United Health Centers of San Joaquin Valley.

Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities:

Works closely with the Health Center Supervisor and other members of the clinic management team to:

  • Schedule surgeries, procedures, and pre-operative testing, ensuring utilization of resources and minimizing wait times
  • Coordinate with internal surgical providers and external surgery facilities to establish and maintain the surgical schedule
  • Confirm and communicate surgery dates with patients
  • Gather and verify patient information, including medical history, and insurance details
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns regarding scheduling and insurance coverage
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including scheduling information, pre-operative assessments, and procedure documentation
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed
  • Abides by Rules of Confidentiality.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Completed training program in Medical Office Assisting from Accredited College is preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Possess a valid Driver's license.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an ambulatory care setting is preferred

  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

 

The pay range for this non-exempt position starts at $21 an hour. Our salary ranges are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
