Overview

We are recruiting for a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Trainer in Fresno, CA. 

 

This non-exempt position is part of the service delivery training team responsible for quality patient care at the health center sites. This position educates nursing staff activities (e.g., Nurses, Medical Assistants, etc.) to ensure quality of care, patient flow, and compliance with regulations and governing bodies.

 

Additionally, as a member of the Clinical Operations Team, the Clinical Trainer evaluates, coaches, and guides staff performances along with providing indirect and direct patient care within the scope of their respective medical assistant certification.

 

Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Clinical Trainer will assist in the ongoing support of the electronic health record, practice management system, and other clinical information systems. A primary role will be to provide training and support of clinical staff on all nursing policy and procedures in the health information technology systems. This position will also be responsible for being the primary support to troubleshoot, resolve, and create workflow processes that address UHC's policies and procedures. The position will involve working with the Health Information Technology, Quality Improvement, Nurses, and Medical Assistants including Health Center Manager.

 

The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office and possess knowledge of general office policies and procedures. The Clinical Trainer must possess the ability to exercise professional judgment involving access to privileged information, orients new employees and providers on the electronic health record policies and procedures, demonstrate the ability to use problem identification and solution skills and present training in an organized and understandable manner.

 

The Clinical Trainer must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain attention to detail, follow through on work tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate regular status updates.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

Works closely with the Health Center Manager and other members of the management team to:

  • Assist in maintaining patient flow via the promotion of adherence to policy and education in the health center to a level that supports agency productivity standards and goals.
  • Communicates with appropriate personnel as necessary, to examine, revise and evaluate inner-clinic processes to promote efficiency.
  • In-services provider and nursing staff as needed regarding procedures, forms, and procedural changes, etc.
  • Maintaining accurate records for all educational sessions (including sign-in sheet) and storing in a place accessible to all staff.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited school and possess a valid Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) Degree

License/Certification:

  • Valid Lifesving Certification (CPR,BLS,etc.)

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of LVN experience, preferably in an ambulatory care setting
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory and training experience
  • Background in utilization review, risk management and licensure standards

SKILLS:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Able to quickly build and maintain rapport with patients, providers of differing backgrounds; team player.
  • Ability to facilitate in front of an audience. Able to keep audience engaged.

The pay range for this non-exempt position starts at $25.41 an hour. Our salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
